Asbestos Surveys

Since 21st May 2004 There has been a legal responsibility under The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations which requires those in control of premises / the duty holder (employer, owner, one who is responsible for the maintenance of the building), to identify and manage asbestos in the workplace. This new Duty to Manage requires you to:

Identify the presence of asbestos in buildings
Identify all elements of its condition that impact on its potential for fibre release
Assess the risk that is presented
Take action to safely manage the risk

We are able to carry out comprehensive building surveys, which will identify the presence of asbestos, its condition and potential for harm. As part of our survey report we will assess the risk and make recommendations enabling the employer to take the appropriate course of action for each situation identified.

In accordance with the Health & Safety Executive Publication MDH5 100there are three main types of survey which we can offer.

Type 1 - Location & Assessment Survey (Presumptive Survey)

Type 2 - Standard Sampling, Identification and Assessment Survey (Sampling Survey)

Type 3 - Full Access Sampling and Identification Survey (Pre-demolition/Major Refurbishment Survey)
